Want to visit Meru and wondering where to stay in Meru National Park? This is a complete guide for accommodation in Meru National Park. From midrange camp/lodge to luxury options located both outsides and inside of Meru National Park.

Meru National Park is a beautiful destination that features luxuriant jungle, coursing rivers, verdant swamp, khaki grasslands, and gaunt termite cathedrals all under the sky’s great blue bowl. Little visited and utterly unspoiled, few places are comparable to the remote and rugged atmosphere found here. Visitors can see Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos and more than 427 recorded species of birds.
Where to stay in Meru National Park
While planning a safari to Meru National Park you might experience difficulties in choosing the right accommodation facilities since they are few. Also owing to the fact that there is less flow of tourists to this park there is less information on the same on the internet. I will be highlighting a few options that you have available for your National Park
Elewana Elsa Kopje’s Meru
Unashamedly romantic and beautifully styled, Elsa’s Kopje is sculpted into Mughwango Hill, above the site of George Adamson’s original camp where he raised and released orphan lions, long before conservation became fashionable.

Each cottage is crafted around the rocks, with a large bedroom, open sitting room, veranda and spacious bathroom, each with breathtaking views. Guests can enjoy inimitable seclusion in the vast expanse of Elsa’s Kopje, boasting 870km², the equivalent of 215,000 acres, of the authentic African landscape.
The rugged and remote Meru National Park was rescued from oblivion thanks to Elsa’s Kopje, an environmental award-winning, boutique lodge. Winner of the Good Safari Guide’s ‘Best Safari Property in Africa’ award, Elsa’s Kopje is widely renowned as one of the most elegant lodges in Africa. Elsa’s Kopje was designed and built by Stefano Cheli, officially opened by Dr. Richard Leakey (Director of Kenya Wildlife Service at the time), and Virginia McKenna of Born Free fame in 1999. One of the most beautiful parks in Kenya, Liz & Stefano included Meru National Park on most of their mobile tented safaris.

Rhino River Camp
Rhino River Camp, an unusual, exclusive and up-market lodge located in extraordinary Meru National Park, Kenya, where the legend of Elsa the lioness began. Your perfect base to explore the complete wilderness of Meru Park and its amazing wildlife. With our Rhino Sanctuary Gate, to meet one of the rarest and endangered animals on earth.

Rhino River Camp tents are built out of sumptuous caramel canvas and sustainably grown wood raised on platforms above the gently flowing Kindani River will turn your stay at Rhino River Camp into a quiet, exclusive experience.
A further 02 tents are located away from the river, facing a natural forest for those that prefer to be away from the sound of Kindani Rivers running water. 02 of the river facing tents have their own private ‘zen’ area where you can meditate, re-read your favourite novel, or simply unwind. The very design of Rhino River Camp, contemporary with a hint of Africa, is pleasant without being intrusive.
Add to that a swimming pool to dream of, a well-stocked bar and restaurant area, numerous nature trails for you to explore our private property on foot or bike, and this will make your perfect hideout.
Ikweta Safari Camp
Meru is one of my favourite parks in Kenya. The problem was always that there was only basic or 5* accommodation. IKWETA Safari Camp fills the gap with a very nice tented camp just outside the main gate. Very nice tents, good food and friendly staff and excellent location. It offers natural elegance, personalized service and best value for money.

Bwatherongi KWS Bandas
For those who are looking for the very budget Meru National Park Safari you may consider KWS accommodation and campsites and we recommend Bwatherongi Campsite and Bandas which have fully furnished bandas. They even have a swimming pool.
