About Amboseli National Park Safari
It’s called “The Land of the Giants”. Because you’ll see more “Giants” here in the wild than anywhere else!

This is Amboseli National Park – known as the best place in Africa and indeed, the world to view wild, magnificent herds of elephants. Join us on this 3-day, 2-night tour through the park viewing elephants, Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah and much more. Even better – your safari adventure is set against the backdrop of snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Indeed, this park offers Africa’s finest views of the continent’s highest peak.

This is a photographer’s paradise with striking sunrises and sunsets. Plus, you’ll have the option to visit a Masai Village and meet the Masai people.

Africa Vacation Safaris offers you an array of choices to make your safari tour more enjoyable. We will pick you up at the location of your choice in Nairobi. As always, your Driver/Guide is English speaking – or another language that you request. This All-Inclusive Amboseli safari includes park entrance fees, game drives, accommodations, and meals.

Day 1
Nairobi - Amboseli

We will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel, residence or the Nairobi airport in the morning.

We’ll head out in your private 4 x 4 Jeep/van, on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. This is a relaxing drive through African savannah country, with local homesteads punctuating the vast plain. Watch for Maasai herdsmen, draped in their colorful wraps as they tend to their flocks.

We should arrive in Amboseli National Park in the late morning. Entering the park, you can’t miss the wall of the mountain to the south – this is legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro, known as the “roof of Africa”, rising to 19,000 feet. It’s the continent’s tallest peak and the highest free-standing mountain in the world.

This is the backdrop to much of the park’s wildlife and always a gift to photographers, so have your camera ready for the next 3 days!

We’ll enjoy lunch at your accommodation and then head out for an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is known for its relative ease in wildlife spotting. All of Africa’s Big Five are here as well as zebra, giraffe, cheetah, warthog, ostrich and many more. Except for the Rhino.

Toward evening, the cloud cover obscuring Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit may clear, giving us one of Africa’s most striking vistas.

We return to our camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner, and Drinking Water

Day 2
Amboseli Full Day

We like to rise early while on safari to set an adventurous tone for the day. We’ll watch the light breaking upon the park and catch the wildlife as it appears on the savannah.

Our next assignment: breakfast! And then another morning game drives through the park. One of the advantages of Amboseli is that the terrain is open with thin foliage. This makes the game spotting easier.

We’ll be watching for lion and leopard and the park’s almost ever-present great parade of elephants. Seeing the magnificent elephants patrolling in line before the majesty of Kilimanjaro is a special treat of this reserve.

Lunch at your accommodation is next and perhaps some relaxing time. The day is yours to pace as you want.

Should you want to fill your day with unlimited game drives, your guide is available to make that happen as well.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner, and Drinking Water

Day 3
Amboseli - Nairobi

Our final day in the park and we want to squeeze in all the game viewing we can. We’ll start on a pre-breakfast safari and see who we can check off our list. Don’t forget to look for the smaller animals here like hyenas, foxes, jackals and monkeys.

There’s also a colorful variety of rich birdlife in the park – pelican, kingfisher, egret and heron are found near the park’s marshes and lakes.

We’ll enjoy one more Amboseli breakfast, with views of great Kilimanjaro and then a final game drive as we exit the reserve.

Meals: Breakfast and drinking water

I had a wonderful experience on my last tour with Africa Vacation Safaris. Our driver, Joseph was prompt, knowledgeable, friendly and one hell of a driver. Several times we found ourselves in badly flooded areas and he got us through, he was amazing.
We travelled to Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Amboseli Parks. The change in scenery was spectacular and the clouds did give way briefly for view of Mount Kilimanjaro. We saw and photographed a wide range of animals and so pleased to see the great herds of elephants.
The lodges ranged from modest to luxury all having excellent staff, food, rooms, and the views were outstanding.

For us it was very important to have a company that we could trust, and from the very beginning since contacting Africa Vacation Safaris I felt we were in good hands. In particular Denis at the Nairobi office was very helpful and being in touch with him during the safari proved to be useful. The arrangements made for the safari were spot on. We really appreciated picking us up and driving us back to the airport. Small details matter. The itinerary we were given was kept almost to the point. Only when bad weather interfered with things changes slightly. Our Kenyan driver, Joseph was very professional and a good guy to have around. Our first game drive at Masai Mara was on December 24 and it was quite crowded. In any case, he knew his way around and we saw some amazing wildlife on our very first afternoon.
