Overland camping tour of Meru National Park
OverviewBrilliant on a magnificent scale, the Meru and Kora sister parks feature luxuriant jungle, coursing rivers, verdant swamp, khaki grasslands and gaunt termite cathedrals all under the sky’s great blue bowl. Little visited and utterly unspoilt, few places are comparable to the remote and rugged atmosphere found here. Visitors can see Grevy’s zebras, elephants, Bohor reedbucks, hartebeests, pythons, puff adders, cobras, buffalos and more than 427 recorded species of birds.
Day 1: Day 1 Nairobi-Meru….Embu RouteDepart from Nairobi early in the morning and head to Meru National Park a road safari. You will enjoy the beautiful sceneries en route such as views of snow capped Mt Kenya. The road meanders through deep valleys especially after Embu town where you can make several stopovers for sightseeing. Lunch stopover in Meru or Maua town. Will be able to view several miraa plantations as well. Later on arrive at Murera gate and check in. Afternoon will be spent in Meru National Park tracking animals in the bushes. Enjoy your stay relaxing by the pool and evening camp fire. Dinner and night in the camp.
Day 2 Meru-Nairobi.Nanyuki RouteAn early morning game drive at 6.30am Breakfast, and leave the campsite to Nairobi with lunch stopover in Meru town. Enjoy the beautiful sceneries en route such as the large wheat, French beans etc plantations in Timau, the Mt.Kenya views etc Arrive Nairobi in the evening.
