As we prepare for our journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, we'll gather picnic lunches for a final game drive through the captivating landscapes of the Serengeti. However, before reaching our destination, we'll make a detour to the remarkable anthropological site of Oldupai Gorge. This living testament to early human development and tool-making is an absolute must-see, offering a glimpse into our ancestral past.

Arriving at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, we'll pause to take in the breathtaking vista before us—an expansive and thriving world spanning approximately 264 square kilometers (102 square miles). Brace yourself as we descend 600 meters (1,968 feet) in our reliable 4x4 Jeep, descending to the crater's floor—a vibrant ecosystem teeming with wildlife.

Throughout the day, we'll explore the diverse fields, lakes, and woodlands of the crater, seeking out the abundant presence of majestic lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, antelope, and even playful monkeys and baboons. The isolated nature of this world allows for an incredible variety of wildlife, and if we're fortunate, we may even catch a glimpse of pink flamingoes adorning the shores of Lake Magadi within the crater.
