You will Visit

Masai Mara National Reserve

The incomparable Masai Mara is one of the world’s greatest wildlife destinations. Not

much can beat the delight of superb, year-round game viewing – let alone all the thrills of

the Wildebeest Migration.

Lake Nakuru National Park

Scenic Lake Nakuru is Kenya’s most popular national park. The park’s main feature is a

large, shallow lake supporting great birdlife, including big flocks of pelicans and variable

flocks of flamingos. The lake was once famous for its flamingos. Black and white rhino

were re-introduced in the 1990s and have bred to healthy populations. White rhino are

usually easy to see on the lakeshore. Rothschild giraffe, buffalo and hippo are numerous

as well. Lucky visitors might see lions, which occasionally climb trees. Leopard are

present, but not often encountered.

Hellsgate National Park

Situated just south of Lake Naivasha, Hell’s Gate National Park is the only national park

in Kenya that you can explore on foot or cycling. Dramatic volcanic rocky outcrops,

obsidian caves, spitting geysers, rock towers, sandstone cliffs, and water gouged gorges

are what make this park worth visiting.

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park is well known for its herds of big tusked elephants. A scenic

park in its own right, Amboseli is synonymous with two particular things – majestic

herds of elephant and glorious views of Mount Kilimanjaro in neighbouring Tanzania.

Kenya’s second most popular national park after the Masai Mara National Reserve,

Amboseli was declared a UNESCO-Mab Biosphere Reserve in 1991. During heavy rains,

the basin at the centre of the park floods, attracting hordes of wildlife.
