About Lake Naivasha and Hellsgate – Nairobi Day Trips

Did you just land in Nairobi on a business trip and you have just a few hours yet you want the maximum out of it? A Lake Naivasha and Hellsgate National Park day trip gives you exactly that. Naivasha town is located just 104 KM from Nairobi and about 1 hr 30 km drive makes it ideal. Naivasha is home to Lake Naivasha, a large fresh water lake in the floor of Rift Valley where guests can take a boat ride go spot hippos while watching birds and beautiful sceneries from within. Just opposite the Lake is the famous Hellsgate National Park. Spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric Parks in Africa. Hell’s Gate is an ideal venue for a day trip from Nairobi where, in addition to the bio-diversity that includes raptors, visitors can enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing and a natural spa.
