It will be happening on 12th December, on Jamuhuri Day. We shall be covering three of Nairobi’s most amazing destinations all in one day. We start with Giraffe Center in Karen. This centre, which protects the highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, combines serious conservation with enjoyable activities. You can observe, hand-feed or even kiss one of the giraffes from a raised wooden structure, which is quite an experience. We then visit David Sheldrick Orphanage, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust operates the world’s most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program and is one of the pioneering conservation organisations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa. Then n finish with Kitengela Glass.
Kitengela Glass is located opposite the Nairobi National Park, at the end of a rough road. Despite this, the constant stream of visitors from all over the world never stops. The magical ambiance of the place is peppered with sculptures, animals and secret mosaic pathways which lead to niches of busy artisans all transforming recycled glass and scraps of other materials into beautiful artworks, jewellery and home ware.Nani tries to help their locals as much as possible – over fifty people have been trained and work in various disciplines.
