About Lake Elementaita

Lake Elementaita is a soda lake located about 120 KM Northwest of Nairobi. It’s a protected area due to its birdlife. It is also part of UNESCO world heritage places together with Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria. When its dry the lakes attracts wildlife who gather along a few fresh waterholes near the lake to quech their thirst making game viewing experience better. The Lake also gets high number of visitors between July and October  which is the Wildebeest Migration Season. Visitors make a stop here before proceeding with the safari to Lake Naivasha, Hellsgate, Masai Mara or Lake Nakuru. Elmenteita attracts visiting flamingoes, both the Greater and Lesser varieties, which feed on the lake's crustacean and insect larvae and on its suspended blue-green algae, respectively. The lake's shores are grazed by zebra, gazelle, eland and families of warthog.

About Lake Nakuru National Park

Scenic Lake Nakuru is Kenya’s most popular national park. It offers good wildlife viewing with four of the Big five present. The small park doesn’t support elephants, but rhinos are particularly easy to see. Lake Nakuru NP’s main feature is a large, shallow lake, which was famous for large flocks of flamingos. However, since 2012, conditions have become unfavorable for the flamingos and most have moved to other Rift Valley lakes. The lake still supports great birdlife, including big flocks of pelicans.

Lake Nakuru offers easy wildlife viewing of most big safari animals with the exception of elephants. Black and white rhino were re-introduced in the 1990s and have bred to a healthy population. White rhino are usually easy to see on the lakeshore. Rothschild giraffe, buffalo and hippo are numerous as well. Leopard are present, but not always encountered. A highlight is the tree-climbing lions.

About Masai Mara National Reserve

Maasai Mara National Reserve is an area of preserved savannah wilderness in southwestern Kenya, along the Tanzanian border. Its animals include lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and hippos. Wildebeest traverse its plains during their annual migration. The landscape has grassy plains and rolling hills, and is crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers. The area nearby is dotted with villages (enkangs) of Maasai people. Situated in the southwest of Kenya, covering an area of 1 510 square km (583 square miles), the Masai Mara National Reserve is a land of breathtaking vistas, abundant wildlife and endless plains. The quintessential Masai Mara safari delivers many attractions, as the reserve is home to an excellent year-round concentration of game, including the more than two million wildebeest, zebras and other antelopes that make up the famous Great Migration.
